Sally Kern's comments about gay people are despicable:
"Studies show that no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted more than, you know, a few decades. So it’s the death knell of this country. I honestly think it’s the biggest threat our nation has, even more so than terrorism or Islam - which I think is a big threat, OK? Cause what's happening now is they are going after, in schools, two-year olds...And this stuff is deadly, and it’s spreading, and it will destroy our young people, it will destroy this nation."

I certainly hope Oklahoma wises up and does not re-elect an official with such disgraceful, bigoted, ignorant, misguided and inaccurate messages. Better yet, call for her to step down from office!

This shows exactly where homophobia is at this time in our nation's history. People now know that it's not exactly socially acceptable to denounce gays and say that we're Satan's spawn - - in public. But behind closed doors, I think a lot of people are still afraid of and confused by homosexuality. And instead of trying to understand it, they simply hate it because it's different from themselves.
That's a lot of Freud for Sally's nasty comments, but I think it means something that this was behind closed doors and not a full public press conference.

You are absolutely right, Rader. There are still many people closed off to homosexuals & insist on remaining ignorant. Unfortunately, I know Sally is only one of many. It's very sad.
